Spanish Program Placement

Red Rocks Community College

A general word about placement

Whether you have experience with Spanish classes, have traveled or lived in a Spanish-speaking part of the world, or have no experience whatsoever with Spanish, you probably have questions about what classes are available to you as well as what classes are best suited for your level. The Spanish Department at Red Rocks employs a variety of resources to determine which class is most appropriate for each student. These resources are explained below.

NOTE: If you have never studied Spanish at Red Rocks before and wish to begin above the introductory level (all courses except SPA 101, SPA 111 and SPA 175), you are required to take a short placement test. You can find out just how easy it is to take this test below.

Detailed course descriptions

In order to gain an understanding of the courses offered in Spanish at Red Rocks, you can check out the general course descriptions as well as the specific topics covered in each course on the Course Offerings page.
